Wild Toro
Wild Toro is a Spanish-inspired video slot by ELK Studios. It has a bullfighter theme with cartoon depictions of a Matador and Toro as the main symbols. You’ll benefit from walking wilds, standard wilds and re-spin triggers in this well thought out slot game. Wild Toro’s fantastic graphics and sounds can be experienced on desktop and mobile devices.
It’s a 5-reel video slot with 4 rows of prize symbols. It does not use bet lines and there are 178 ways to win on each spin. Each spin costs 100 coins and there are 12 bet levels. You can play conservatively at 20p per spin up to as much as £100 per spin. The maximum win is capped at 225,000 coins.
It’s a great looking slot, with an atmospheric backing track. The chatter and understated music gives you the feeling of being in a matador’s dressing room. Prize symbols include a rose, an orange with a dagger through it, a fan and various Spanish coins that are reminiscent of the old Peseta currency. On top of these standard symbols are special icons for the Toro and Matador. Winning bet lines are signified with clever animations and an accompanying whooshing sound effect.
How To Play Wild Toro
Wild Toro slot is a pretty straightforward game to play. Still, we always advise reviewing the paytable to familiarise yourself with the prize symbols and what each combination represents. You can do this by clicking the menu button, followed by the ‘i’ and then clicking the trophy icon.
The rose is the best paying of the standard symbols and is worth 1,000 coins for 5 of a kind. In order to make a winning combination, you must line up matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right. It does not matter which position the symbols appear on the reels, as long as they appear next to one another. Wild symbols substitute for any other symbol, except Toro and Matador symbols.
Matador symbols appear on reels 2, 3 and 4 only and act as a blocker if there is no Toro on the reels. 3 Matador symbols in view at any one time will trigger 3 respins. During the respins, all Matador symbols will remain in place and subsequently appearing Matadors will add 1 respin. The respins stop when the respin counter reaches zero or a Toro appears.
The Toro symbol appears on reel 5 only and is a walking wild. It will move from right to left, generating one respin for each step. The Toro attacks Matadors, leaving wild symbols in their place. The Toro bonus is over when the Toro reaches reel 1 with no Matadors left in play.
Setting up the game is really easy and as there are no bet line to select, it’s simply a case of setting your cost per spin. Click the stack of coins in the bottom-left and choose how much you wish to play. You can also select various strategies from this screen which adjust your bet amount on each spin according to certain parameters. The strategies are useful but are not recommended for beginners.
You can customise the game to suit your preferences. Click the menu button, followed by settings to adjust sound effects, music and how your balance is displayed. Once you’re ready to play, simply click the large spin button in the bottom right. Click and hold on the outer circle to initiate up to 100 automated spins.
Wild Toro Slot Tips
Wild Toro online slot was released towards the end of 2016 and is available with a number of operators including Guts Casino. We haven’t seen it as the headline of any welcome packages but it can be played with bonus cash unless the casino stipulates otherwise in the terms. Because it’s a volatile slot, we recommend playing to catch a big win and then switching to something more easygoing to play through the wagering requirements.
When testing this game out, we found that there were long barren runs broken up by nothing but mediocre wins. It’s a game that requires great patience to hit any kind of meaningful win. Wild symbols are rarely seen and the Toro even less so. In fact, it took us well over 300 spins before we caught a glimpse of the Toro symbol. The bonus round did pay reasonably well at 1,350 coins and the Matador respins game helped us to get something back from the house along the way.
This slot has the potential to pay out handsomely though not the kind of money that is likely to dramatically change your life. Your best chance of a big pay day comes in the Toro Bonus round. If you’re lucky enough to keep spinning in Matadors, then the Toro will leave multiple trails of wilds and create more winning combinations.
Is Wild Toro The Right Slot For You?
Wild Toro video slot is not for the feint hearted. It’s a high variance slot that requires a sufficient bankroll and plenty of patience. You’ll need to be willing to endure some fruitless spells in order to play for the big winnings that are on offer.
The theoretical return to player (RTP) os 96.4% which gives the casino a modest house edge of 3.6%. These are good terms for an online slot and suggest that over long-term play, you will have some losing sessions but a big win could be just around the corner.
The overall theme is attractive and it’s a great looking slot game. The detail in the graphics is particularly impressive. It plays much like a traditional slot until you hit the bonus feature and the Toro starts going on the rampage. At this point, you’ll be on the edge of your seat hoping that a few Matadors spin into play to open up the board with wilds.
Overall it’s a very volatile game that will suit serious slots players who like to take big risks. Conversely, it’s not a slot to play if you’re looking for some light entertainment as a small bankroll will more than likely be wiped out in a matter of minutes. However, the potential for a large payout ensures it remains an attractive slot to play.
